It depends on the day. I had great experience with all the airlines that I've traveled so far.
(Air India, Malaysian and Lufthansa)
When we traveled with our twins on Lufthansa they were extremely helpful. They even went to the extent of checking our documents ( as opposed to standing in the line) in the sitting/waiting area at Frankfurt airport for us.
The ground staff at one small Indian domestic airport floored us by bringing a Jeep near the plane (as opposed to walking to the terminal from the runway).
I believe when you are with small babies, airlines goto great length to help you.
At the same time, when we fly next, we would go with lower expectation since you never know when the law of averages will catch up! I know its due! :D
Thanks,

Got response below :
Thank you for contacting me about the issue of immigration. I understand and appreciate your deep concerns. As you know, several members of Congress have proposed various reforms. These proposals deal with a broad range of issues including our national security, border enforcement, guest worker programs, immigrant children, a path to citizenship, and the issues of immigrant workers in agriculture, seasonal jobs, and high-skilled positions.
Michigan faces unique immigration issues as a major border state with Canada, and I have helped to increase resources along our northern border. In addition, my office has been contacted by thousands of Michigan citizens about their problems with our broken federal immigration system. I am well aware of the urgent need for reform and the impact of our system on those trying to navigate this complicated bureaucracy.
For these reasons, I believe that we must consider any reforms to our immigration system in a comprehensive and balanced manner, first and foremost taking into account our nation's security, the jobs of American workers, the rights of individuals and the economic interests of our state. I will keep your strong views in mind as the Senate considers this issue.
Thank you again for contacting me. Please continue to keep me informed about issues of concern to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Debbie Stabenow

Include Sep approvals as well, they can’t use all the visas in the month of Aug it self, it never happened before (in fact they wasted thousands of visas by the end of the fiscal each year in the past). This is the first time they have determined (?) to use all the visas, don’t expect 100% success in the first attempt it self. The system has not been fine tuned yet to that level of success.
For Sep, the EB2 dates will remain same or might even move further few months. Oct bulletin will be the interesting one. If there are very little approvals during Aug & Sep, it will move back considerably. If there are so many approvals in the tune of 15-20k, then EB2 PD will go back slightly (say Jan 06) but will move forward at healthy rate. Come last quarter of 2008-09, there will be quantum leap again.
only the month of AUg approvals is going to validate or invalidate...but makes sense so far. ;-)

Quick question on behalf of my friend. His H1B is being revoked by the present company. His previous employer did not revoke his H1B, can he go back to the previous employer without filing for transfer or should he file for the transfer again?
I be interested in knowing answer for this question.

Nola, your intentions are good, but I do not agree with your conclusion. You are biased against yourself and other applicants.
1. who, applicant or cis, is required to make sure gc process is properly followed?
2. also, if someone goes thru' "pain of gc revocation" due to cis error, isn't it ethical (and legally required) to provide "ead/ap" (so person can continue to work and feed his family, be in status), "reinstatement of (again) pending 485" etc. to that person by cis?
3. are these legal & ethical norms only applies to one party or both parties involved in this process?
I understand what you are saying. Both, the applicant (or applicant's attorney) and CIS shold follow the correct procedure. However, there should be no elation to getting a GC when the PD is not current, hence there should be no distress for its "revocation" - which again is a matter of semantics, there is no GC, hence there is no revocation.
I commented on what the applicant and the applicant's attorney should do based on what is ethically and legally appropriate. I did not comment on what USCIS may or may not do to resolve such a situation.
I understand the struggle you metion; I have been in the US since 1994, i lost my priority date of Aug 2002 due to impatience with the backlog center. I started my GC process in 2001! I had a job loss due to Hurricane Katrina. I am married to a US Citizen, but cannot get sponsorship from that marriage due to DOMA. The pity list goes on and on for each and everyone of us. So believe, me, i understand the aspect of "struggle" that each of us has had to endure or is still enduring in order to get a GC.
I don't see how I am biased, especially against myself - that doesn't make sense. I am not an attorney, obviously, but i work very closely with attorneys, well it is essentially my job to work with them and the bottom line in every contractual arranagement or when applying the law, comes down to what are the obligations of the entities involved whether it is a contract or the practical application of the law.

Everyone show attitude towards desi. Travel London, Frankfort, Amsterdam, Paris, Zurich, Dubai, Baharain anywhere so I prefer nonstop. I can live with lazy airhosteses in Air India or Continental over seperzelous security in Europe or Middle East.
my opinion:
AI : I love my india , but will not fly AI , because I dont want to take chances with once a year vacation I get.
BA : They are prompt service folks , but I cant tolerate their attitude.
Luftansa: Again good, but cant take the attitude.
cathay/singapore/korean/Arab emirates: Nice , can bet my time and money for my travel on them
Others : I dont really care.

So what? Just because they came and skewed the lines doesn't mean you can choose where you're born or when. the rule is unfair wihtout any reason. there is no graceful solution short of removing the quotas. anyway I doubt fairness is the reason you're so fond of this quota.
Here's a one step way to quit.
1. Accept that the reason you're defending this useless rule is that it benefits you.
Sure.. if you say so.. y didn't u say that earlier.. jeez
It's official guys, we ROWs only argue for the sake of our self servient morality or lack thereof, while all others are on a Utopian conquest of fairness..
Never mind, good luck to everyone and sorry for time wasted thinking we were having a conversation
Good bye :)

Simple e.g. I like Target as a store. That doesn't mean I give Target money and let them give me whatever they want for that money. I want to know before hand what my money is getting me.
very true when you are talking about a person who walks into a store. But you are asking for Target's strategic plans, how many stores it will open in the next quarter, what is their marketing plan in regards to Walmart (their main competitor).
Are there any immigration bills that IV supports? What are they? What is IV going to do to get them through? What does IV expect from the lobbyist?
I take it you did not go through the action alerts page...Here is a link
http://immigrationvoice.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=69
Other than the FOIA thing, is there anything else IV is collecting money for? I don't want to see IVs tax statements. I just want a quarterly report of what IV did with the money it collected and what IV will do with the money it collects in the future. A simple 5 line explanation is enough. It has to be something concrete though. "IV will improve the EB immigration process" is not enough. E.g. "IV will contact all senators in support of XYZ". "IV will make sure there is constant media attention to our problem" etc.
Two different things here: a. Action items b. Lobbying
I would agree as to what items are in the horizon in terms of action items is something more often than not can be given out.
Lobbying...check out the landscape....go visit numbers usa website, capsweb or similar websites...come back and tell us if "IV will contact all senators in support of XYZ" is a good idea.

Hi,
I am transfering my H1b to my friends company. And I have to bear all fees. As such my case is simple, no complications. I have good education credentials and 10+ years of exp. Got education evaluation also with me.
I just went thru USCIS site and it looks like to me that filing H1 transfer by myself (or by my friend) is a fair simple job.
Can anybody give me advice or have some experiece in filing H1 or transfer H1?
Thanks

But I agree with Tito to some extent. Especially, if the degree is from even a slightly lower ranked school like Arizona or Northwestern, the returns are not there, and there is a great deal of evidence in that direction.
But it's still just my 2 cents.
Northwestern lowly ranked for MBA ? gotta be kidding. Kellogg School of business brushes shoulders with the very best including Wharton, MIT and Harvard.

Sc3 and other friends. Here is what has triggered this bad blood on the forum
Apr VB EB2 is U and EB3 is doing well every one is normal exactly like every other VB no surge of threads and replies everything is normal
July VB Eb2 is in Apr 2004 and Eb3 is in U again every thing is normal
Aug VB Now suddenly Eb2 is 2006 and Eb3 is U ( no change) and all of a sudden there is a flood of e-mails complaining injustice against EB3. I think the timing of when Eb3 folks realized injuistice is what ticked off many.
I am not saying every one shares this feeling but just the sheer volumes of posting on this thread speaks for itself. I am sure many do not agree with me (or least pretent not to agree) Any one can query Eb3 injuistice posting before Aug VB and compare it since this bulletin was posted and see the data speaks for itself we do not need any body to prove anything
The DOS algorithm to allocate unalloted Visas in the last quarter has so far been inconsistent. In previous years it favored EB3 and now it is totally skewed in favour of EB2 . From the deposition of the DOS @ congress they think that this year's algorithm will be the model for years to come.
Now , obviously that is great for EB2 because EB2 will get the lion share/complete share of the spillover . But death knell for EB3.
EB3 will not get anymore ~3000 visas every year till EB2 becomes current.
This will starve EB3 badly , EB2 will be current most of the time and EB3 will in 2001-02 time frame. There is a possibility that 2008 EB2 filers might GC ahead of 2003 EB3 filers.
Starving any particular queue badly does not help the throughput of any system .
I hope DOS will realise this and change their algorithm accordingly.
Each countries quota is equally divided among all EB categories, IMO, The spill overs also should be equally divided among all the EB categories.

The word on the street is that the Cantwell amendment is not a part of the list of amendments that are currently floating around in Senate offices. There are 20 of them.
Even Bernie Sanders has one more coming (Yes, it is related to H1B). But Cantwell amendment is not there in the list of 20.
Here is the list of 20 amendments floating around in the Senate:
Democratic Amendments
1199 Dodd ---- Family parent visas
1313 Webb ---- Community ties for Zs
1236 Baucus-Tester ---- Strike all reference to REAL ID
1332 Sanders ---- Employers to certify no mass layoff
1344 Byrd ---- Border security immigration fee
1317 Menendez ---- Increased family points in merit system
1340 Brown ---- Employers post job at state agency
1468 McCaskill ---- Repeat violators who hire undocumented workers
1486 Levin ---- Iraqi religious minority refugees
1386 Leahy ---- Refugee Scholars (may instead be 1289 on EB-5 investors)
____ Schumer ---- Tamper-proof biometric social security card (no language yet)
1198 Boxer ---- Reducing Y visa cap by number of Y workers who overstay
Republican Amendments
1161 Alexander ---- Oath of allegiance for naturalization (may move to manager’s package)
1255 Bond ---- Prohibits green cards for Z holders
1473 Coleman ---- information sharing/sanctuary cities (Coleman is redrafting, new language not available)
1335/1258 Domenici ---- Federal judgeship increase (redrafting)
1490 Ensign ---- Preclusion of social security benefits
1465 Graham ---- Enforcement, plus other potential agreed upon amendments folded in (redrafting, content not clear)
1441 Grassley-Baucus Obama ---- Strike and replace Title III (small changes possible)
1440 Hutchison ---- Touchback/strike and replace title vi (redrafting)
1174 Thune ---- Probationary legal status triggers
1318 Chambliss ---- Totalization agreement
1282 Isakson ---- Preemption/Home Depot (redrafting)
------ Graham Criminal penalties/mandatory minimums for overstays
