How Many EB India applications Pending by year and by Category. So give us Information like how Many Applications for Indian Citizens pending in
2001 EB3 & EB2
2002 EB3 & EB2
2003 EB3 & EB2
....
2007 EB3 & EB2
$5000 shouldn't be a big deal for a quarter million community who's seeking some information on this...I guess either IV should start and campaign and collect money for this or we can saperately collect money for this..

Back to the numbers game - .... The country quotas could disappear, and the overal limit could be increased, but without reforming the actual processing side the speed of approval will not change.
I was hoping for such a long time for somebody to realize this.

You are certainly entitled to your interpretation and Mr. Gotcher is entitled to his but I wouldn't go as far as calling it a ploy to increase more traffic. I am not sure if you are an attorney but he is and he certainly has more understanding of immigration law than most of us here. As with any law and immigration in particular, there is room left for interpretation and Mr. Gotcher is simply stating his point of view. You are more than welcome to disagree with him but I wouldn't call him greedy.
i dont think its a controversy. mr. Gotcher does not agree with the interpretation. Maybe its a way to generate some additional revenues for his firm by increased traffic to the blog and potentially a class action lawsuit on behalf of the ROW people.

Somehow California residents seem to benefit more from a GC than those who reside elsewhere? Keep those coming... I love that attitude and am equally surprised and amused by it!

One reason for the poor performance from DC area folks is that a GC does not open many avenues for folks in DC area. You could change from a 70K job to 90K job, may be. In Silicon Valley there are many more opportunities. You are talking about a change from 80K to may be starting a million $$ company.

In such cases, where the InfoPass people (IOs or VOs or whatever they are called) pass judgement on whether your 485 should be approved or not, does it help to bring a printed copy of the AC21 Aytes memo (issued in Dec 2005)along to show to them? It is an official USCIS document and it clearly states the following.
Question 11. When is an I-140 no longer valid for porting purposes?
Answer: An I-140 is no longer valid for porting purposes when:
A. an I-140 is withdrawn before the alien�s I-485 has been pending 180 days, or
B. an I-140 is denied or revoked at any time except when it is revoked based on a withdrawal
that was submitted after an I-485 has been pending for 180 days.
Well - what is the point? I will take all documentation if it is an interview, in fact I will take lawyer for interview. When you go for interview, take kids and spouse and lawyer - don't go alone.

Very well said IV and I can tell you that you may very well be right when you say that 90% of people trust you guys. I am proud to be supporting an organization like IV and will continue to do so till we get success. It is not easy now and it was not meant to be easy but hey we will get there. I am a Canadian and have a PD of 3-05 LC apporved 10-06, filed i140 in 5-07 and am putting together the documents to send in 485 application this month.
I am on the 7th year of H1-b but have extension valid until 2009
In a few months I won't have a job. I am trying to apply for 485 before it ends.
Is it possible to find a job that is different than my current job description?
When I look for a job, what to I tell potential employer? do they need to sponsor the H1-b or Green Card? do they need a lawyer to manage my stuff?
What do I do after job ends? Does my family and I have to immediately leave? I heard that I can get a few months by applying for a different status (to take care of affairs) but that only get me a few months.
We were so happy last week , as our PD came up and we can go through the final stage to get GC... is all lost right now?

USCIS is clearly requesting for two passport size photos with AP application.
It is surprising that most people don't even read basic instructions with the USCIS forms, and go on asking questions and sometimes giving (wrong) suggestions in IV. Yeah, it takes a few minutes to look through the instructions but searching/writing/replying/ doubting/making mistakes/giving red dots/ etc in IV takes more time, I think. :)
I e-file my AP and I got receipt notice immediately after completion of e-file. And I got the direction on the PDF listed bellow. USCIS clearly mentioned DO NOT send Copy of ID, Photos unless they requested. That�s why I didn't send any documents to USCIS.
6) DO NOT mail photos or copies of identification unless requested to do so by USCIS.[/COLOR]

So many people are porting, I dont think it will not go any where, max will be few months in this year, even we will not surprise to not even any movement.
I know couple of my friends in EB3, almost all of them are porting, some of them got their cards too.....so no hopes....

Yes immigration reform was on many of their lips....all we can do is hope they consider it sooner rather than later...but who on earth trusts politicians. I am still thinking that the embittered Democrats will try to strike hard blows to pave way for a Democratic President in 2008...that is going to be there main agenda - by repealing tax cuts, calling committees on War, etc to take the Pres to task....They have called that out too many times...for us to ignore that it will be their # 1 priority.

Guess what I called again and this time the poor soul knew NOTHING about I-485 rejections!! :p He put me on hold and finally said, "We have received no such notice that they are rejecting I-485s, so if you applied it should be processed".
So much for "educated" call center workers. If this call center was in India, atleast we would all get ONE answer. It may have been the wrong answer, but atleast it would be CONSISTENT :P

Doesn't it sound rude... they celebrate, feast and we fast. If we admire this country for giving us so much we should also show our support and adopt the culture and celebrate with them to show we are tax paying Americans who enjoy in American way.
We can show our protest by sending 1-wish for our own GC ( may be in the form of Christmas tree ornament) to all law makers. Everybody makes a wish and our wish is GC.
IMO, it is not rude but definitely brings out the irony of our positions.
