go_guy123, since you have MS+MBA, you should seriously consider applying for US GC in EB1 category. I know a friend who had similar qualifications and he got this EB1 GC approved within a year. You need not be in US to apply in EB1 and you can do all the paperwork in Canada via consular processing. My .02 cents.
I dont think MS+MBA makes a case for EB1. Anyway I can look into it. Pease PM me some details/contact of your friend if you can give.

State boards are kind of semi internet usgae only (Though not forum...). But those also do not make passive ones come ahead. So real issue is not the type of meet, the first real issue is feeling that you are in trouble..and 2nd is to stand up for fighting against that. And 3rd.. yes through IV we will be able to do this and so become active.

If the media holds Obama to the same standard as they do the republicans, you will see the democrats crumbling faster than a cookie.
There is so much hypocrisy in the media. If women vote for Sarah Palin it is wrong because you voting her just because of his gender. But oh, if you are black and dont vote Obama, then you are the most odious person living in this world. How will you explain your kids that you did not support a black person for presidency? I liked some aspects in both, McCain seemed like a great guy with a great story (POW et al) I liked the way he initially backed CIR even though most of his party men opposed it; I liked the way he started supporting Bush when everyone else in the world is hating him and gave the support for troop increase. But of late his campaign has become sleaziest...all lies. They took one vote of Obama out of context and say that his only contribution to education is sex education in KG. They showed Obama as the reason for increasing gas prices etc. Even I can see how idiotic these claims are and McCain is still supporting them. Then his whole equation with Bush - he is using his connections for fund raising and accepting his support but publicly acts as if he is running against Bush. This whole republican propaganda machine projecting Palin as next best thing in US politics is laughable. She does not have any experience and whatever little experience she has - she seems to have abused it. Well she does look good and seems to have fired up their cadre - that is good enough for them. Of all McCain's shortcomings - his choice of VP is most horrible - its a purely political choice. Nobody is complaining about women voting her (actually none of women's organizations vote her as her extreme right wing opinions) - the problem is republicans wants people to stop thinking about ISSUES and think who is reposible for this state and think about who is better to solve them - they just want people to think about pigs, lipstick, moose, sex, kindergarten, etc and vote enmasse to Palin (note they gave up on McCain already that is why this sensationalism on a VP).
Obama side - yes he is inexperienced (and infact I liked Hillary during primaries) but atleast he is running a very honorable campaign and convention. He is atleast talking about issues. The notion that journalists are light on him so .... over ... and so primary time theme. If there is a Palin like issue on him (say he is involved in firing someone; or exaggerating facts about her opposition to bridge to nowhere; or even about family with a teen-aged pregnant daughter) the press would have been on fire just like when Rev.Wright was an issue. So dont say that press is light on him. About the race - you may not see everything open in our offices but yes his race is a main reason why he is still backward in polls if Obama with same policies and same charisma and same experience level and background is a white guy he would have run away with this election already. Whether we like it or not race is a factor and it works both ways. The thing that I dont like about Obama is the fact that dems are still didnt close this thing - the state of economy, an illogical war, an all-time low popularity of incumbent president who belong to other party - still thing is not closed. I truly think that it would have been different if Hillary is the nominee.
About whether community organization is a reason enough to become president - on the same token we can ask - whether crashing your plane in a war is reason enough to become president. Ofcourse not - both of them have enough strengths to came to this point than being onetime organizer or onetime POW. As someone in the sidelines - I like them to see to run this campaign in a honoroble way and discuss real issues rather than rake up silly/idiotic/dumb/fake issues. Both initially seemed promise in running campaigns in that way but of late McCain/palin went off the line and its slowly becoming a mug-slinging match. In that respect I started liking Obama more.
On immigration related issues - especially EB related issues - I think none of them can make a difference. We need something to be done in congress and personally I think that probability of something happening next year is very low (that is why HR5882 is so important for us - its right time and if we miss it we have to wait for another couple years maybe).

My wife moved from H4 to H1 in June 2007 and obtained her SSN at the same time. We used her new SSN to file our returns in March this year. However, no sign of the stimulus package yet. Wonder how is our case being considered. Thoughts?

Reason is obivious. There were no demand for GC as the date was way back. So they moved 2 years for June. They were not able to process application in 10 days time so still no demand is there. So they made it current. I think it may be current for a few months. They can process only those who cleared finger print. So First they will process the applications which are filed some time back and after filing PD dates went back. It is simply supply and demand in gc numbers.
Many calculations wrong because companies like TCS, Infosys are not processing gc and they are top users of H1b. PD will go back after a few months but may not be very worst as feared. Anyhow IV is trying for legislation to file I485 and now it is not needed atleast for a few months.

I dealt with Fragomen for last 7 years. I can say following about my experience �
I work for fortune 500 company and Fragomen was the law firm my company used until early 2007.
1> The emails, voice mails I sent to them used to disappear in a �black hole�. I had to wonder whether and when any response will come to an urgent, time sensitive question.
2> Many times after waiting a week or so for response I had to escalate the matter to my company�s legal department to talk to Fragomen. This used to work like charm, I used to get answers within hours.
3> I had to keep them reminding them about next step to take, as delay from their part had cost me years in the processing.
4> I think many of my co workers had similar experience and that is why my company finally switched to different law firm in Jan 07.
5> I hoped to never to deal with them again but �last week I got invoice from Fragomen for something the did for my case in Jan 2006! I don�t know why they sent it so late and why directly to me instead of my company. Well, this time I am going to wait until they call me to take any action on that invoice.

Naturally the organizer felt frustrated at the unexpectedly low-level participation at a very important event, for which significant personal sacrifice was done.
A word of advice to everyone - Do NOT volunteer to anything unless you are 100% sure you'll be doing it. Don't volunteer 'spur of the moment' to backtrack later. It's a rude and unprofessional conduct. We are all highly-skilled professionals here, right?
Take your time ( I mean weeks, a month or two, not 10-12 months of years !), become convinced about the IV cause. If you believe in it volunteer with full heart and conviction. And once you do, keep your words and promises. Don't make empty promises that aren't kept. It creates a very bad impression about you as a person. Not everyone will publish it here, but you'll be marked off as 'all talk, no action' from that point onwards.
If you expect others to respect you, please respect others first. Be professional and considerate in your conduct. If you cannot volunteer it's fine. Please don't make others lose their interest. For if they do and abandon the cause, you'll be a loser too !

BharatPremi has brought up a good point. There needs to be some corrective action that needs to be undertaken here.
At lease some of those that are absent from the meeting are not cowards as the core-team implies. We all know that.

BharatPremi has brought up a good point. There needs to be some corrective action that needs to be undertaken here.
At lease some of those that are absent from the meeting are not cowards as the core-team implies. We all know that.

If you file today it will be past october when you have to choose between EB2 and EB3 (I485 stage for EB2) till that time you have both the process going on EB2 and EB3.
If you start EB2 process in October it will take 6 to 9 months to clear labor and I 140..
It is taking average of 1 year for I140. And there is a possibility of PERM audit , which can derail all your plans.
